A rainforest pocket in the Centre of Dry Western Queensland, a unique landscape of Australia, leave at least two days for a lasting memory, but to really spend time and do some serious trekking, set aside a week.
To experience the main centre of the gorge, you are advised that it will be a challenging walk and not for those who are unfit or have a slight physical ailment. The main track is approximately 18 kms return and we were advised to trek to the furthest point we wanted to visit and then retrace back to the carpark.
A definite challenge, but well worth the effort. We had picked a time of warm weather and there had been floods a three months before, so there was enough water in Canarvon Creek to keep us cool.
