Bastei Bridge, Saxon Switzerland National Park, Germany Monday Landscape Photo of the Day

The Bastei is a rock formation high above the Elbe River in Germany, in the Elbe Sandstone mountains. Reaching a height of 305 metres the unusual jagged rocks of the Bastei were formed by water erosion millions of years ago. The present sandstone bridge was built in 1851.
