Arriving in Auckland Harbour at dawn this was the beautiful scene of the city skyline that greeted us.
With a limited time to explore this city, we chose a bus trip to explore New Zealand’s largest city. Situated on the North Island, Auckland is situated on an ismus, between Manakau Harbour on the Tasman Sea and Waitemata Harbour on the Pacific Ocean and is one of the few cities in the world with a harbour on two separate bodies of water. Being sub-tropical the weather was delightful, the sun shining, and little wind, as we toured the sights of the city, Albert Park, Auckland War Memorial Museum and St Patricks Cathedral.
This beautiful multi-cultural city boasts cafes and restaurants with cuisine from around the world and for the shopping enthusiasts, international designers offer their creations and the budget shopper can delight in open-air street markets and close by are black sand beaches, vineyards and wineries.
We promised ourselves a return visit for a harbour cruise and to get to know this beautiful city intimately.
